Richard M. Nixon was our 37th president. He was born in California in 1913. In school Richard won all the debates. He was an honor student and got a scholarship to Harvard University. Unfortunately his family couldn’t travel so far and ended up attending Whittier collage to study law and became a lawyer and then in 1942 he took job in the military.

One of the reasons Nixon was important to our country was because he visited Beijing and Moscow and was able to make a relationship with them and the United States of America and those country’s agreed not to make too many weapons that were being shipped over to America. Nixon was also important to our country because he was able to end the Vietnam War and got the Israel, Egypt, and Syria to stop fighting and come to an agreement.  And also when Nixon was in office the first man on the moon went to the moon!!!!!!

Nixon was a very honest president until a day when Nixon and his party broke into the opponent’s party’s office and looked over all their stuff. Unfortunately they were caught and when Nixon got up and told the whole country he wasn’t apart of the plan, people later found him talking about it on the phone and then Nixon resigned after lying to our whole entire country and the man that took his spot was the speaker of the party our 48th president General Ford. And Nixon’s last words were “ I am not a crook”.
